SHRINK FITTING The main advantages of thermal shrink fitting are the removal of stresses and residual deformations as well as the easy reversibility of the processes for dismantling.Induction heating is widely used in some shrink processes since this enables its integration in the assembly line itself as well as cutting down the total process time. Controlled heating also makes it possible to ensure constant quality of the bond and results in major energy savings thanks to the high performance of induction equipment. GH is a world leader in this application and has extensive experience in induction shrink fitting and/or unscrewing equipments, having supplied them to manufacturers the world over, and for whom we have developed a wide range of applications. Dilation or thermal shrink fitting erection is done above all in mechanical assemblies and takes advantage of the expansion phenomenon during material heating and contraction during their cooling, to get a mechanical joining based on the elastic forming of the shrink fitted parts and the high friction resistance of the joint made in this way. This same phenomenon of thermal dilation can be used to facilitate dismantling mechanical connections, such as for example the joining of nuts and bolts, or the dismantling of shrink fitted parts.
